TROOP MEETING NIGHT!!!

This is rapidly becoming my favorite night of the week. This last month the meetings have been great and I look forward to seeing our new Scout fit in and learn. Such a great feeling as a Scoutmaster.

• Sent a follow-up e-mail to our new Scout Dad to clarify a few things before our campout tomorrow. I’m wanting to make sure he’s prepared and has a great time.
• Watched the Scouts as they practiced fire skills tonight. Scouts love fire and it was a good instructional night.
• Highlight of the night hands down was our new Scout. He had been studying all week to pass his joining requirements. We sat down and went over them and he did great. Had a little Scoutmaster conference and got to learn some things about him, what he likes to do, that he has a dog, and that he doesn’t like his sister all the time. All great things to know. He’s a bit shy around adults, but sitting down next to him at his level and asking about him really opened him up. I look forward to the years to come and watching him grow. He seems like a great kid.

Proud to be a Scoutmaster today. Now we’re headed off to Survivor weekend, so I’ll have to post when we get back on Sunday.
