Days 25-27 – 100 Days Of Scouting

Saving some time and posting the last 3 days as one as they all fit around the same topic.

  • Took Friday off to help my wife pack up for our campout this weekend.  Spent the day cramming stuff into the truck.
  • Left late Friday night for the campout. Set everything up and watched the boys work the patrol method. They made a decision this weekend to consolidate down to one patrol. They enjoyed the numbers this weekend and worked well as a team.
  • Sat around the fire Friday night and sang songs out of my song book with my daughter. She loves that book.
  • Great weather for winter camping, just below freezing and we did get about 2 inches of new snow Friday night.
  • Woke up Saturday morning, cooked a great breakfast, tore down our tent and hit the lake to try and catch some fish. Fishing wasn’t great, but I was able to out fish my wife, first time I’ve ever done that.
  • Packed up early in the afternoon and headed home. Dumped our gear, took a shower, and then headed off to dinner with my wife’s cousin.
  • Spent most of the day today unpacking, cleaning, and drying out gear. Always fun trying to dry out winter campout gear in our house. Tents are the best thing to set up in the living room.

Hope everyone else had a great weekend. Back to normal this week.

YIS

Phil
